I really believe in the power of great content—it’s at the core of any communication activity, be it a website, an intranet, or a campaign. Without targeted, innovative content and messaging, even the most well thought-out strategies will fall flat. So my focus is on delivering high business value, primarily around the areas of content optimization, online content management, information discoverability, business processes, and user experience. When I’m not cranking away on a client project, I’ll be keeping up to date with the latest industry news, trends and techniques, to ensure that the services we provide to clients continue to be cutting edge.

Experience & Approach

I got into communications after deciding that journalism would not pay the bills! I started out in media relations and corporate communications in the charity sector. Later, I worked in marketing and online communications roles for Microsoft, before taking on business roles in account management and business performance management. Now, I’m back where my passion lies—in the world of content and marketing. My business skills complement my creative skills, enabling me to fully understand my clients’ end business goals and develop successful content strategies for meeting them. My approach is to always be on top of the details—when dealing with multi-faceted projects, it’s critical not to let anything slip through the cracks

A Favorite Project

My favorite project was actually a few years ago, and nothing has quite beaten it yet. I was working for an international children’s charity as a copy writer and was commissioned to write features for their supporter magazines. I got to meet the most amazing children whose stories were both heartbreaking and inspiring, and I was able to help them share their narratives around the world. I often look back and think about how much more could be done with those stories now. With the advent of social media and SEO, there’s even more opportunities to get the word out about important issues and campaigns.

Fun Fact About Me

I used to be a campanologist. That is, I used to ring church bells where I grew up in Essex, England. And not hand bells either, but the big kind that weigh a few hundred pounds and you have to pull with a rope!
