Role at Allyis

I provide leadership in implementing HR strategy, programs and processes that are in line with: Allyis culture, Allyis business objectives, and industry standards. I work with an incredible group of people, inside and outside of HR, supporting employees, their careers, and the best possible work environment. In order to achieve these objectives I look at the fundamental needs of employees, creating unbiased input channels and listening carefully. In response, as an HR team we continually design and implement solutions that best leverages the resources available.

Experience & Approach

I gained a ‘real world’ perspective separate from HR in my first 8 years of work experience as a buyer. I then became a Benefits Administrator at HP and in the following twenty five years I worked for HP, Digital Systems Intl, Attachmate, Siemens IT Solutions, and now Allyis. I have had the pleasure of working in every field of HR. I know that every action we take or objective implemented must reinforce employees’ knowledge of self-worth and respect, active in a significant purpose, ensuring them of a future. This requires open communication and creative programs for management and staff’s advancement. I know that our employee experience will be our customer’s experience.

A Favorite Project

Allyis’ focus and impact on people is a primary business driver and considered in every decision. To further ensure our philosophy and practices don’t diminish over time, Allyis sent me to learn about Lominger Competencies – essentially a list of core capabilities. From this list we identified the key characteristics that we want every one of our employees and hires to imbue (e.g. ethical, trustworthy, composure, interpretive, etc.). Putting in place something that perpetuates our thriving culture is really rewarding and fun.

Fun Fact About Me

I went to an experimental High School (Mariner) in Washington where you could work at your own pace on most subjects. I graduated with the equivalent of 6 years of credit and in 4 years only did 30 minutes of homework (calculus). I got a head start at the University of Washington, but it took till my Sophmore year to learn how to study properly and balance schoolwork with playing JV tennis and belonging to a fraternity.
