Position Overview: Our client is a leading provider of leisure travel services and looking for a UNIX/Linux Administrator. Join this corporate team to help support the systems running in the Unix environment and work with a team of system administrators to keep the platform running smoothly. The client website is currently divided into Linux and JBoss, and there is a need to integrate the front to backend of the site. This resource will need both O/S and Web Server layer experience; experience with Apache, GlassFish, or other Open Source servers are preferable. 24x7 On call and remote support experience is may be a plus as this position will require an on-call rotation. Required Skills:
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Unix (Linux or AIX) administrator
Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux Rel 4, 5 or 6
Experience with Oracle, MySQL and SQL Server relational databases, including performance tuning at OS level
Good understanding of SSH, NFS, and TCP/IP required
Unix shell scripting experience
Experience with configuration management tools and processes Preferred Skills:
Experience with Jboss/Apache/Web Sphere, nagios, and VMware ESX
Development Experience (Java, Spring, Struts 2, Hibernate, Eclipse)
Experience with memcached, membase, mongoDB or similar in memory or no SQL data management tools
Web Architecture and Design experience
Working knowledge of Data Modeling, Relational Databases and database design
Working knowledge of BMC Control-M
Excellent communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills
