Position Overview:
Allyis is seeking a talented, result driven, and creative Content Manager to apply their honed editorial and project management skills towards merchandising a site for a high profile, local online retailer. This is a 4-6 month contract, with possible extension. Our client company will look to the Content Manager to help build and grow their online business by using innovative merchandising techniques and by providing compelling content and product information. The Content Manager also will work to drive overall improvement in the look, feel and navigation of the site, and will help drive projects and initiatives to improve the shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
To this end, the successful candidate will work with internal and external resources to:
Drive traffic internally and externally to the client’s site
Coordinate and manage external resources to provide thorough and authoritative detail page content
Plan, develop and execute compelling e-mails
Analyze results of merchandising and traffic driving efforts
Work closely with various internal teams to optimize promotional efforts and present a unified storefront to the customer
Effectively merchandise products both within a specific section of the site and across the client company’s platform, and analyze and report on the effectiveness of those efforts
Work closely with other internal teams to create site-wide promotional campaigns
Build customer-friendly navigation of the site
Help drive the challenge of merchandising products that require accurate, detailed information to gain customer trust
Combine the skills of an experienced writer/editor with the organization and tactical execution of an experienced project manager to create the most effective, targeted content and deliver it with power and elegance
Required Skills:
Understand the needs of business owners and stakeholders to diplomatically prioritize their objectives
3+ years experience as an editor or content manager in either print or Web publishing
2+ years experience working with Web-based portals in an editorial or content management capacity
Familiarity with a markup language (HTML, XML, etc.) including experience with CMS
Familiarity with Web publishing cycles, including production, QA, and workflow within cross-functional teams
Effective time and task management skills to drive and complete multiple tasks in a high-throughput environment
Ability to integrate content from a wide variety of sources
Willing to help buyers and planners synthesize business objectives into rapidly and flawlessly executed top-notch online merchandising
Diplomacy and grace under pressure, with the ability to ruthlessly prioritize to meet deadlines
Previous experience writing and editing in an on-line retail environment is preferred, but not required for consideration
