Role at Allyis

I have operational oversight over the human resources, corporate citizenship, employee care, and employee relations departments. In addition, I am also responsible for the on-going development of Allyis' corporate intranet and for driving the adoption of emerging, Enterprise 2.0 technologies within our organization. My primary goal is to maintain and improve our culture and the happiness of each employee; this is something I am truly passionate about.

Experience & Approach

One of my favorite quotes is, “You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus” by Mark Twain. I also love Malcom Gladwell’s book Blink. Together these are the tools I employ when facing tough challenges as they remind me that good decisions come from not only knowing all the facts, but also from having solid instincts and a clear mind when making them. This is an approach I try to follow each day when managing a team, developing a program, or leading an Enterprise 2.0 initiative.

A Favorite Project

In 2003, I was asked to develop an Employee Care Program that would recognize employee’s hard work, life events, and milestones in order to help foster our strong community-centric culture throughout our growth.

The program is still in place and while it is no longer a part of my day-to-day responsibilities, it is one of the greatest programs I have had the privilege to develop. You can’t beat a program that allows you to celebrate the birth of a baby, recognize the hard work of a successful project, or support an employee during a hardship.

Fun Fact About Me

I read my horoscope every day. It is entertaining, plus it always includes basic words of wisdom such as: “Just be aware that many little things might not end up going quite as planned today.” It doesn’t hurt to be reminded of the obvious to prepare for the day.
