Role at Allyis

As a founder of Allyis and a member of the board of directors, I work with Allyis’s senior leadership team to develop company strategy. I want to do that in a way that continually identifies the challenges being faced by our clients and encourages our employees to consistently increase their skills and understanding so they can offer the most intelligent, practical and enduring solutions. You'll also often find me in the market speaking to audiences on behalf of Allyis, doing my best to represent our approach, thinking and expertise.

Experience & Approach

My background is in writing, communications and editorial work. But building Allyis has been my life’s work. As Allyis has grown I have managed our project management team; I have acted as the company’s financial officer; I have managed and helped to build our human resources department to be an extension of the founders’ values; I have worked as part of our marketing team to build brand awareness; and I have helped direct Allyis to nearly two decades of growth and success. Along the way I have learned that my strengths are a thorough and audience-focused approach to communicating. My style is to listen first and then to speak because I strongly believe that no one will hear you if you are not listening. I enjoy the opportunities I get to speak about our work, but it’s most rewarding when I get the chance to listen to others talk about their companies and what they are trying to accomplish. I learn from every one of those conversations.

A Favorite Project

Allyis is my project. Ongoing. Ever changing. I really didn’t know what it would become when we started in 1996, or if it would even work. Turns out, it’s become my life’s work. I like looking back on the milestones we’ve achieved, the projects we've been a part of, and the relationships we’ve developed with clients and employees, so many of whom have become lifelong friends.

Fun Fact About Me

Though I look 6’4” I am, in fact, only 5’3”. It’s a trick I learned freshman year at Western Washington University when I took a “Techniques in Modern Shamanism” class. Another fun fact: when I'm cornered by a “tell us a fun fact about yourself” question, I take shelter in absurdity.
